Guild Tracking
Follow a Voxyl guild in your Discord server: post its joins and leaves, weekly charts, and daily, weekly, and monthly overviews, give its members a role, and take applications. In this guide, a guild is a Voxyl guild and a server is your Discord server.
1. Before you start
- Add Voxlytics to your server. Setup only works inside a server, not in DMs.
- You need the Administrator permission to change the tracker, set up applications, and review them.
- In every channel you pick, Voxlytics needs View Channel, Send Messages, Embed Links, and Attach Files. It tells you what's missing when you pick a channel.
- For the member role, Voxlytics needs Manage Roles, and its own role must sit above the role it gives.
2. Start tracking a guild
- Run
/tracker settingsin your server. - Press Start tracking (or Add guild once you follow one already).
- Enter the guild's tag or ID under Guild tag or ID, for example SHINE.
- The guild appears in the Pick a guild to edit menu. Pick it to choose where its updates go.
Every server can follow 1 guild for free; see Track more guilds below. The top 50 guilds on Voxyl are tracked by Voxlytics already. Any other guild is added when a server adds it, and its members are imported within 30 minutes.
A guild Voxlytics didn't track yet has no history from before it was added. Its first overviews and weekly charts come once a full day, week, or month has been tracked.
3. Choose where updates go
A guild's page in /tracker settings has four channel menus. Set the ones you want; clear a menu with its X to turn that update off.
- Set guild log channel: every join and leave, as images (one line per player). Members are checked every 30 minutes, and new events are posted within a minute after that.
- Set XP chart channel: each finished week, a chart of the stars every member gained.
- Set GXP chart channel: each finished week, a chart of the guild EXP every member earned.
- Set daily, weekly, and monthly overview channel: after every day, week, and month, the GXP and stars the guild gained and its top 5 grinders.
Days end at 00:00 Berlin time and weeks start on Monday, so weekly charts arrive on Monday and monthly overviews on the 1st. A channel you set only gets new updates; nothing from before is posted.
Press Test config to see what each channel will get: a sample join and leave log, the last finished week's charts, and the last finished day, week, and month. Tests don't change what gets posted later.
4. Give members a role
Pick a role in Set guild member role (autorole) and Voxlytics keeps it in sync: everyone in your server whose linked Minecraft account is in the guild gets the role, and anyone who isn't loses it.
- Members link their account with
/link. Without a linked account, nobody can get the role. - Your whole server is checked right away, then every 15 minutes. Someone who joins your server, links, or unlinks is updated at once.
- If Voxlytics can't give the role, it tells you: give it Manage Roles and move its role above the one you picked.
- Clear the menu to turn the role off. If the role is deleted, the setting turns off by itself.
5. Take applications
Let players apply to the guild from your server. Press Setup applications on the guild's page in /tracker settings.
- Press Add question to add up to 5 questions. Each has a label of up to 45 characters, a Short (one line, up to 100 characters) or Paragraph (up to 1,000 characters) answer, and is required or optional.
- Pick a channel in Set review channel (where applications arrive).
- Pick a channel in Set channel for the Apply button, then press Post Apply button. Posting again replaces the old one.
- Press Open applications.
Applications show the player's overall stats too. Press Hide stats to leave them out. Use Pick a question to edit and Pick a question to remove to change the questions at any time (removing asks you to confirm first).
To apply, a player presses Apply, answers the questions, and sends them. They need a linked account, can't already be in the guild, and can have one open application at a time. After a denial they can apply again 24 hours later.
Each application arrives in the review channel as an image with the answers. Anyone with the Administrator permission can press Accept or Deny, once. Accepting sends the player a DM and gives them the member role right away, which they keep for 7 days while they join the guild in game. Denying sends nothing.
/applications list shows every application in your server, filtered by All, Open, Accepted, or Denied, and by guild when you follow more than one. /applications view opens one by its number.
6. Track more guilds
Every server can follow 1 guild. When you need more, ask for them:
- Run
/tracker request. - Enter how many guilds you want to track in total, from 2 to 25.
- Optionally list which guilds, for example SHINE, CLOUD.
The Voxlytics team reviews each request. When it's approved, you get a DM and can add the guilds with Add guild right away. A server can send one request an hour.
7. Stop following a guild
Open the guild's page in /tracker settings, press Delete, and confirm with Delete again. Its logs, charts, and overviews stop in your server and the slot is free again. The guild's history stays with Voxlytics, so adding it again later carries on where it was.
